  • They are a Monza based firm, founded in 1923. The fourth generation of the family, who are brothers, are now running the business, having recently taken over from their father, Gianni. They produce around 1500 frames per year, and all are hand built at their premises in Monza.

Gianni Casati was widely seen as one of the premier framebuilders in Italy, and often praised by his contemporaries like Ernesto Colnago and Ugo de Rosa. He preferred fillet brazing to lugs, and many of his steel frames are brazed.

I've owned 4 of their frames, two steel road frames, a carbon fibre road frame and my current steel track bike. I've visited the factory on 5 or 6 occassions and have always been made to feel very welcome.

As Steve has already pointed out, their UK importer is Racescene in Barnsley. I prefer not to go via them as the one time I did they tried to inflate the price that we'd agreed on the phone beforehand when I went to collect the frame.
