A cheers, sizing is one of the things I'm constatnly thinking about, as I mtb a lot and it involves sloping top tubes you just end up buying a longer seatpost etc ;)
Thanks

Hello,
I'm looking to buy myself a bike but I've only ever ridden MTB and am completely new to anything else! I'm 5'11"- Would the 57cm Guarini be suitable for me? Also do you have a picture of the entire bike as it's not visible (maybe it's my computer?) And is it still available?! -

I am sorry as I had no responses I took it apart and the frame is now sold. It would probably have been the correct size for you.

it is quite nice if you post a "sold" on the revelant thread, just to prevent people still posting or p.m'ing.

Got the Gitane on Monday, thanks Hilary. :)
Hi everyone,
I’ve just sorted out two rather nice but very different bikes. Shipping on bikes will be £18 - other items can ship free of charge in the same box.
I have further pictures of all these frames, please PM or email me.
ALL ITEMS ARE IN BRISTOL; viewing/collection is most welcome. Payment can be via bank transfer (preferred), cheque or the dreaded Paypal which costs me 3%…

GITANE REYNOLDS 531 BIKE 50cm late 1970s/early 80s
Seat Tube (ctc): 50cm
Top Tube (ctc): 52.5cm
Rear dropout width: 126mm
Wheel size: 700C
Frame tubing: Reynolds 531 double butted
This Gitane dates from the late 1970s/early 1980s and is in very nice condition - the paint is especially nice with only a few marks. I have put in a modern pair of 700C clincher wheels but the buyer can have the original tubular tyre wheels if wanted. The rear derailleur at present has a sticky tensioning spring - I think it just needs a good clean but just in case I will throw in a more modern Shimano rear derailleur. It could easily be converted to singlespeed or fixed use with the long horizontal dropouts. £85 SOLD
GUARINI ROAD BIKE 57cm c1978
Seat Tube (ctc): 57cm
Top Tube (ctc): 55.5cm
Rear dropout width: 126mm
Wheel size: 700C
Frame tubing: Columbus
This very beautiful Italian built road bike dates from around 1978. It is in very good condition and has lots of rather beautiful features - just take a look at the engraved head tube, slotted rear dropouts, slotted and cut out gear levers, slotted brake levers, seatstay and chainstay joints to the rear dropouts, engraved top eyes and pantographed Gs into the head lugs. The chrome plating is in very sound condition with just a little wear in a few places, notably on the seatstays and very good paintwork which does have some marks but most of which could easily be touched up.
It is fitted with a Campagnolo Nuovo Record brakes (the earlier type with flat Q/Rs, chainset, front and rear derailleurs and a Super Record seatpost. Pedals are Gipiemme and bars and stem are 3TTT. Allin all this is a wonderful example of Italian craftsmanship which is just as just and probably better than the big name Italian makers such as Colnago. £445
