• Just completed the Manchester to Blackpool ride on my first fixed (Fuji Track), mostly off the peg components apart from a short stem, risers and a front brake.

Have to say, apart from a sore arse and hands (my fault for not wearing cycling shorts and gloves) it was pretty comfy and stood me in good stead.

Wondering whats the furthest anyone has ridden on a bike with track geo like this, Im interested in doing the Manchester 100, but not sure whether my Fuji will be the best ride.

On a side note, any other fixie riders from Manchester want to help a newb get fit, maybe some rides to Buxton and the like?

Yeah deffo mate, i'm a manc lad and I'd be up fer that... d'you know there's a\ manc subforum on here?

I recently got a fuji track as my beater/commuter ready for winter so I can be a bit kinder to the 'burgundy dream' and 'other bike' so you can check out my set up.

The pedals are appalling, 2nd thing I changed after the saddle (though i was changing so much anyway i did it all in one go)

i'll put a pic up at some point of the fuji...

There's shit loads of Manchester fixed riders, even lots who don't care about meeting other fixed riders, they just want to ride their bike.

There's a Manchester social group on here, and also check out "Ride It Sunday" on Facebook and I Bike MCR also on Facebook I think.
