A quick thing to add, directions wise: when I put this particular route/crib sheet together, is was based on the notion that the group would be passing through Croydon town centre early on a Sunday morning before there were (m)any peds around.
It's therefore worth adding that if the group chooses to stick to this route on Saturday, the pedestrianised zone is likely to be absolutely chocca, so it could be worth diverting/dismounting or risking the wrath of hundreds of grimy chavs. (I'm allowed to say this cos I is from Croydon, innit)
I still hope to be riding, but an ironic twist has me staying down in Brighton with mates on friday night. So I need to decide whether to get the train up first thing saturday, so I can ride back again!
PS another thing, whoever's in front at Caterham on the Hill, make sure you take a right at Manor Avenue, and not Stanstead Road (refer to updated route link in OP)
This will save some of the more enthusiastic riders from hurtling off down a big hill and missing a vital turn.
