  • Taped off between Dalston and Stokey... Anyone know what's going on? The po pos wouldn't even let cyclists down it this morning and I was in too much of a rush to ask what was going on...

  • I would bet a lot of money there were guns involved...

  • I would bet a lots of drugs there was money involved.

  • firearms incident. looked like the police had pulled over a car on Pentonville Road related to the incident

  • chopper at 7 in the morning over the area, the popo told me was and incident with fireguns, I try to take Shackerwell Lane and was pull back.

  • it was the hipster police, someone got caught "rocking" lime green grips with a pale blue aerospoke.

they're gonna throw the book at him for that one

  • Yeah usually 'road closed' is brilliant - means you're allowed a glimpse into the paradise that commuting to work with no traffic would be. I remember once there was some pub on holloway road that was going to explode so they shut the whole thing to traffic. It was a bit 28 days later just cruising down a massive empty street.

  • Probably a hipster with big guns - when he knows that skinny jeans and heroin chic dont marry well with going to the gym. what a travesty.

  • The was a police chopper hovering around at 5 am over Canonbury. Slightly to the west of Kingsland Road but could have been part of the same thing. Probably an organised rjl mob.

  • Rjl? Hftu

  • ...the popo told me was and incident with fireguns...

Since when did you believe a word they said.

On 7/7 I watched from my office window as a bomb exploded beneath me at Algate and saw dozens of flack jacketed police pour into the station, to be told ten minutes later that I had witnessed a "power surge".

Or they could finally be starting to investigate that Canonbury cat incident.

At the risk of sounding like a broken record ... :)

If you're on a bike or on foot, and you're commuting, you are traffic.

I know that's what you meant, of course, so I hope this doesn't come across as silly nitpicking. It's just that it's worth avoiding falling into the easy trap of using 'traffic' to mean 'motor traffic' and to implicitly signal that that's the only recognised form of traffic.

To be honest, 'power surge' is how I'd describe dozens of flak-jacketed police pour into a station.

  • Though Kingsland Road is now open to traffic, there are new po pos on foot pulling over random cyclists... Two guys in front of me got flagged down for no reason I could work out - we weren;t RLJing. It was like wildebeast crossing the river and getting picked off by crocs...

  • Fashion police, RPM was right. Checking chains are painted the right kind of white.

  • Not like they don't have enough to do in that particularly friendly part of London. Wankers.
Not seen you for a while. Still commuting the same route?

Doesn't come across as silly nitpicking - though I don't reckon if you're on foot you're traffic. I see your point but one of the beauties of cycling is that I like to choose when I want to be treated as traffic (when I'm riding with motorised traffic) and when I don't. As long as I'm not hurting anyone else then that's the way I roll...

No dude just moved to stokey - the commute is such a breeze now - worried that without going up archway road every day I'm gonna get soft though!
