Indeed, bike standards in general are not very high these days. I am too a bike mechanic and many of the popular bikes sold in the shop are in terrible condition straight out of the box. Misaligned frames, bent disc rotors, overtightened cones & BB's all extremely common and totally meeting Britisg standards.
