  • yo! anyone tell me about any threads re. converting a reynolds 531 with vertical(ish) drops into a fixed wheel bike?? do i need to do anything to the frame to stop my chain getting slack? i just went to brick lane bikes and the woman didnt really given me answer other than "itll cost you £300"...

    • Get an eccentric rear hub
    • Get lucky with a half link chain
    • Have track ends welded on instead of the vertical dropouts.

    Personally I would do the first option if the 2nd looks unlikely to work - If you find you really like fixed riding *then *you can spend money on a proper track frame.

    Plus you can always change it back to geared if you ever want to.
