It's a bit like those pointless comparisons between the second tier of the best male riders (Coppi, Anquetil, Hinault, LeMond) among the men, Eddy Merckx was so outrageously successful that he really hasn't been approached yet by anyone).
One good thing is that it's currently looking as if the women's competition is getting better again--there are 160 riders in the Giro Donne.
