P.S. After doing a Recce of the route tonight, I think we will have the words etc from Emma's friends and on behalf of Riccardo read at the site of the accident, there is enough space for a group of a 100 or so to assemble there safely off of the road.

I doubt we will be leaving the stone circle until around then anyway, or just before, if you can try and make it 6:20pm maybe i'll make sure we all wait?

What a good memorial ride; the messages from parents, cousin and friends at Ely Street were very, very moving. Rest in peace Emma.

Thanks again to James for sorting out this ride. I think it's important that we get out on the roads as a group to raise awareness of this issue as much as possible. These fatalities are tragically avoidable.
RIP Emma.

A big thank you to everyone that braved the weather today to join us on this ride, I applaud you. I'm glad that so many of us came to remember a fellow fallen cyclist, it was a somber occasion, but one that ended pleasantly with a few drinks and some chat among friends.
Special Thanks go to:
Keepsake (Aidy) for printing and prompt delivery of spoke cards
Sano (Ian) for the loan of a HD bullet cam to record the ride
Eterea09 (Diana, Emmas friend) for laminating and printing of spoke cards
Pepperoni (my good friend Marco) for helping with the route, and generally being a good mate, cheers dude :)RIP Emma, I hope we gave you the send off that you deserve.

+2 thanks again James, good to see a big turnout and to put a few faces to names. My father in law runs a haulage company and this has spurred me on to find out if and what kind of awareness his drivers have of cyclists. I'll post a thread with what I find out but I'm afraid it'll be chilling for us. From what I can gather most of his time is spent dealing with insurance companies. He's a good guy though, so it would be good to start some sort of awareness campaign for drivers and cyclists alike.
RIP Emma.

I'm not implying that good work on the above has not already been undertaken, but this is not the thread to discuss it. Apologies:-(

It was very good that so many turned out, regardless of the weather.
RIP Emma.

It was a very moving ride and it was a pleasure to meet so many people here. Again, I wish it had been under better circumstances. It was impressive to see the turnout and I truly hope that there won't be the need for more of these rides.
RIP Emma.
No dress code for this, but feel free to wear whatever you want as long as its not offensive considering the nature of this ride.
