If we all started off at the same place- say the Royal Inn on the Park, then Balki had to make his way to Victoria, then the same sort of thing at the other end we might be able to make it roughly even.
Im not going to fucking Birmingham!
Im also not catching the Megapuss.

That was epic, Mashton!

Even with domestiques posted along the route waiting to pull us onwards I doubt we could maintain 40mph. Or, for that matter, 30mph.
But I'd be up for this if we could make it closer to even- something which Balki on his Megabus or the cyclists could win.

And something that doesn't finish in bumfuck Idaho.
-
• #60
Easiest way to make it more even is to move the start and finish points away from the stations.
Bumfuck Idaho would be taking that idea a little too far though I think?

You lot can fuck right off.
Sickening perverts.
You didn't offer to take me to dinner first.

• #63
There was much mention made of all you can eat Chinese?

Although having said that, you are then a pound poorer and you are in Birmingham.
Yes, but your pounds are worth more in Birmingham. Well worth the investment of a pound.

I met Balki tonight, and he has confirmed that he is out for this challenge.
However- Mashton#2 I think as a concept has legs.
A Top Gear style challenge where we compete with differing forms of transport sounds fun.
Obviously the bike winning would be ideal- but we have to give everything a fair shake of the dice.
Suggestions please?

I dont trust you mate... I know we will all rally at some pub for the start of the race, I'll sprint off to catch the bus and you'll sprint off on your bike. 5 minutes later you'll be laughing your arse off back in the pub while Im stuck up in Birmingham.

You can get to Birmingham for a pound in 4 hours on the Megabus.
I'd like to see you do that on your fixies.
Virgin trains from euston with my fixie wheel bike onboard for £3.30 with young persons railcard only takes an hour and a half FTW!!! Still end up in brum though.

i've had a pretty bad one. was on the elephant and castle roundabout, in the middle lane with a bus sitting in my tail. an idiot in a car was in the inside lane, and suddenly decided they wanted to take the next exit. they came past the bus, didn't see me and cut across my lane. I was on red alert, as i HATE that roundabout, and managed to slam on my brakes to avoid being taken out, and the bus almost took me out from behind. Not really his fault, but not mine either. Anyway, he then honked his horn at me and made lots of angry gestures. i was so shaken up already, and he just made it worse.
