sounds like the motors failed, whereabouts are you based? fixationUK are really good at lens/camera repair on modern stuff.
http://www.fixationuk.com and usually they don't charge to quote for repairs, though i'm not sure if that policy extends to lenses.

i got a sigma 18-125 lens for mt 50d ... i woke this morning, got my frame out and tok some picture after the third image i took (AF) the autofocus started the sqwick, like its was grinding on somthing, now its flicking on the auto focus ring and doesnt focus at all...
i havent droped it at all, its about a mouth old and i have a wedding anoversury to shoot next week :SSSS
can any thats hand this prblem let me no what wents gone wrong?
