Hey Ed,
I finally get my picture on the interweb and you post my best view???
...Scherrit.
You should know it is all about the bike!
If it is good enough for the Balki, it is more than good enough for me, booked. Had a lovely chat on the "telephone" with Scherrit, an appointment is booked for a fortnight...
As no one else has posted, I thought I would edit my last post:
Scherrit knows his track and race bikes very well. I spent about 2-3 hours with him and he adjusted my cleats, saddle and looked at my foot, knee and wrist positions. My handlebars did not require any adjustment and he gave me a couple of very good tips which have made riding a little bit easier for me. I would say I was 80% there on my own but 20% he gave me was worth it.
Much as Hippy^ mentioned, if you ride a fair bit, you will have made a number of adjustments over time. What visiting Scherrit does is find the best position for you and he looks at your knees, calf muscles, hips, and wrists to see they are in the right place while you pedal
I recommend this -
1) if you cycle >6/7 hours /week
2)You are thinking of spending any serious money to upgrade a bike (cost was £85)
3) you want to know have some exact dimensions for your new shiny bike also if
4)the best time to have a fitting is during an evening.
I would not recommend it if you
1) live too far from Ealing
2) you only ride short distances across town and
3)you experience no "niggling" problems when riding - you just don't need it.
It was worth it just to see Scherrit remove my SPDs.
