Cycle Sportives

Never ridden a sportive before, but thinking about this: www.touroftheblackmountains.com, mostly because its on the right weekend. There are some comments about last year's on this thread, but can't tell if anyone has done it? Any good?

I did it a couple of years ago. It's a tough event over some heavy roads. It had rained heavily in the week before the race and some of the roads were extremely slippery, I saw 3 or 4 crashes in the first 20 miles, mainly on uphill sections.

I enjoyed it though. It's what jonny would describe as 'honest'. :-)
