I go for the roll into trackstand, stand there for a bit, then nudge the right foot forward, stall on the brake, unclip the left foot and balance for a little while longer- that way I can clip back in if the lights change, otherwise lower left foot to the ground.
If the lights are still red and the green man comes on for the other traffic it's time to put the foot flat on the floor.
