  • What?? the 64 ISO one?

Yup - word had it that it was on the cards as they had actually stopped manufacturing the emulsion a couple of years ago as the US department of defence was no longer ordering it. Thus they have cutting it up into 35mm ever since - guess they got to the end of the reel....

  • Fucking expensive!!!!!!!

    FAO: *CYOA* and GrowUp

Film Processing. From a list-thread about medium format film processing, but obviously they'd do 35mm too.

    Thanks for the info....
For the last 20 years I have been using the "fucking" lab.

  • Finally managed to afford a replacement for my missing Contax T3;

The Contax T2 is all I can afford, the T3 price has rocketed the recent few years, even up to £500!

  • Great cameras those.

  • I like my G2. I just never use it.

  • Most people Go out on a saturday night.... cant wait to see how this turns out if its bad ill learn what i did wrong if its good then ill be fucking chuffed.

Something I shot the other week at Trixies for some reason i really like it.

  • What's thhe view outside? Does the window give any fisheye effect and did you remember to turn the lights off inside if you were exposing for outside and wanted to avoid reflections.

  • took this shot on 40D whilst metering for it... my 40 d is fucked. hence its blurryness etc.
but it shows whats out there, its disused railway etc. and a a lot of different colours, there is this blue wall down there with a light shining onto a scooter, everytime i walk into my flat from front door i look through that window and think rah so nice.
colours come out so nice on my MF camera so though i would give it a bit of a go.
Time will tell if it worked or not....

crop is completely differenton the Mamiya aswell of course.
Turned off every light in the house and shot it at

    iso: 160
    Shutter 4 seconds
    f4.0

Think it should come out nice.....

  • 7 month (January to July) pinhole exposure/solargraph.

  • Anyone fancy giving a few tips (via pm) to a complete newby?

I got a miranda ms2 super and pentax p30 a few weeks ago, first real camera's (previously relied on mobile phone). I've read throught the manuals etc but not had any film developed yet.

i'm off to spain on wednesday then up to ventoux for the stage so i was hoping to take one of the cameras and take some photo's of the stage. I'm aware that i will probably come back with a load of blurry crap.

what i'm after is just some basic rules of thumb, i'm beginning to get my head around the various aspects of aperture, exposure etc. but if someone could give me a few pointers i'd appreciate it.

I'm trying desperately not to fall into the trap of reading magazines and convincing myself i need to buy a load of stuff (same thing happened with cycling), rather i'd prefer just to try and get some decent results with the stuff i already have

  • Use the Pentax P30, it's pretty automatic which help for the first time shooting, and then change it to manual.

secondly, you're right, you don't need lots of stuff, you just need a lightbox, and that what cameras are, merely a lightbox, it's your eyes that is important, as long you have a lightbox, you can capture what you see.

thirdly, come to south drink if you can, I can give you some tips and pointer about shooting film.

  • cheers.. south drinks is a bit far for me (halifax)

i guess i'll take a few rolls of film with me and leave the camera on automatic for this trip.

i'll probably be too drunk to see straight by the time the riders come past on mont ventoux.

  • best to really, then when you see the image you take, you'll get a sense of idea of what to expect before going manual, and the P30 is a nice little camera if a little too automatic.

  • there is a group in flickr that's called shooting me shooting you, purely for photos like this;

(she was aiming at the Pashley bike, and the machine broke at the labs, hence overexposed).

  • i totally had a (sanely priced) lomo lca ...
now i totally have an olympus xa. i totally like it.

You've ended up with a much superior camera for probably about the same price. Diamond little bugger, although the shutter release buttons go ultimately...

I've got one, along with an RC35, a minolta X-700 outfit and a voigtlander bessa L with 25mm and 15mm lenses. And a few other fun cameras. Something of mine:

For processing, I usually use The Vault in brighton, mail order via their website. Very good for E6 and C41 and B&W

  • The Vault are excellent, sadly it's in Brighton.

  • I have a Nikon F65 total beginners camera and two lenses if anyone wants it. I never use it.. it's in need of new batteries but everything works perfectly.

  • dibs this is a joke im in america

id love it, but im not in london

  • ok, its gone.

  • Could anyone recommend a darkroom in East London? Need to use darkroom for developing film and printing while the facility at my uni is shut over summer. I'm trying to decide between: Rapid Eye in Leonard St., Four Corners in Bethnal Green and Chats Palace in Homerton. Anyone used either one of those darkrooms? Is there some cheap and amazing darkroom that I don't know of?

  • Develop at home, in your bathroom/kitchem FTW. Saves darkroom costs. Get a light tight bag, tanks and reels off ebay.

I dunno any darkrooms out east sorry

  • Honestly I'm too lazy to play with chemistry at home. Anyway, need to do some printing, so might as well develop films at the same time.
I think I'll try Four Corners...

  • took this at Herne Hill training last saturday..... i really like it, but cant really decide why.

    Ilford FP4 125 ISO, Nikon FG & 28mm lens.

there are some more random forum shots from the past couple of months here:
