• received mine this morning, fitted it at lunch and It's the business.

Really recommend these, tried a few options but this is by far the best.

Nice one Tris. you should do a JML style promo vid.

  • Would these work on a Charge Plug?

  • Would these work on a Charge Plug?

    Don't plugs have track ends?

  • Man ignore me. I don't even know what a track end is.

I was told by the other humpty in the Bike shope that i needed chain tensioners...as when i tried to flip the wheel round on my plug, ala fixed...the wheel would slowly creep forward...the chain would get slack quickly and skip a little..

    Thought these would help!

  • I meant *numpty, but come to think of it, humpty was a sickhead.

  • Hey tristoo, sorry i'm so late at leaving feedback for this. I bought one probably about a month ago, and have been using it on my holdsworth conversion. It does the job great, and I have the proper tension I need.

The only criticism i have is that the unit as a whole is not rigid enough. Its hard to describe without pics, but after getting the correct tension, i then tightened down the second nut to secure it in place, but when I did this the stainless steel around the bolt twisted out of shape.
This didnt affect the chain tension though, it just means mine doesnt look straight like the one in the photo.

I'll upload some pics later to explain better.

All in all though a good product with room for improvement.

    Thanks!

  • Did wonder about that from the original post. Perhaps a rigid box section at the end would prevent that.

  • tight i think i might have to get one would you send one out to oregon?

  • Are these still available as I am very interested? Thanks

  • chaproc, you can have mine.

it wont go easily over the rear mech hanger of my peugeot (and i dont want to kill any puppies) so i dont use it.

  • This looks like just what I need, message sent

  • can i have 2 too ? i live in dalston.

  • Has anyone got contact details for Tristoo outside of forum? Not picking up PM.

  • wasnt very impressed...good idea but mine didnt help with tension and when tightening track nuts the tensioner at first span around with the nut and after that when i managed to keep it still....it fully distorted and way over bent....also marked my frame even with plastic strip between bolt and frame.

  • for it to distort I'm pretty certain you are over doing it. Mine worked a treat.

  • i would of thought id see some dragons den pics but obviously not

  • but it wasnt when i was tightening the bolt it was when doing the track nut up....ahh well. mayb my nuts are too grippy....haha

  • just seen these on a link from the anti porn thread

    nice billet alu

    fitted

if someone could turn out a few pairs of these i'd say they'd sell well

  • ual!!! I want one of these!!!

  • I really like the design. Been using a tensioner made for track ends, but it isn't so great for horizontal dropouts, and I like when things are just right ;). PM sent.

  • are these still available? would be very interested.

  • you can use a tensioner like the on one chain tug

you may have to file off a tab on the other side, but should work.

I looked at this a while back but for some reason decided it wouldn't work - have you used in practice?

Whilst here - I'd be interested in one of those pictured above if still for sale.

  • ^i have not, but others on here have

  • interesting... I'll take another look.
