  • Scott if you're going to start producting them, I simply must have first dibs kind sir!

  • Ha.....it's HUGE....you might wanna wait until you see it....although i'm gonna do a smaller version for myself too for shorter rides....this one is for the longer multi day rides i have planned. :)

  • Second dibs on the giant turd torpedo saddle bag, sounds like exactly what I am after for my ride in France

  • still not got time to take a quick picture of it before the DD then? I have a hard time trying to picture the shape of your bag!

I'll try and take one tomorrow when the bike is all loaded up.

  • Ta mate, it would be an interesting addition to Archie's Grobag, althought you already have quite a lots of bag as it is!

  • I'm sure there will be the usual critics questioning "why not just use racks and panniers"...but i'm really happy with this setup. Couple of changes i want to make on the second version, but for now i'm well happy :)
Those bloody critics and their damned logic and reasoning. ;)

Good luck with the ride scot.

  • How did I knoooooooow Ed was so going to comment on that! That's fucking lush though Alexander

  • Here are some picsof my Merlin partly built up

Built up with Gran Sport chainset, Early 60's Record front mech, Nuovo Record rear mech, Record hubs on AVA rims, Record headset, Cinelli stem and Giro D'Italia bars bars (will swap out for period stem at some point), Cinelli unicanter saddle on Zeus seatpost, campag seatbolt and shifters, Campag pedals with Christophe clips, campag skewers and cable clips, Weinmann type 500 QR brakes. Mostly in perfect (close to NOS) condition

Or perhaps Ed and I have discussed bikes in depth in conversations, modern frames/bikes vs "old" style ones etc. :)

  • Oof, nice cranks. Mine are nearly done, all I need are some Campy bolts and an internal shim.

  • Oof, nice cranks. Mine are nearly done, all I need are some Campy bolts and an inverse shim.

    nice

  • @ Alexander

    Very nice.

Is this the Holdsworth that turned out to be a Phillips that ASM had?

Lug work is exactly the same as my Holdsworth Zephyr track/path frame, which sadly has got to be sold soon.

  • It is indeed, after a trip to Armourtex to remove that hideous paint-job, it's turned out really nice.

Never seen your Holdsworth, wouldn't mind seeing a picture.

Don't be silly, no one talks about bikes here.
