Ah NYC, the place where the only thing bike shops hate more than customers is each other.
I find both trackstar and king kog to be elitist in sort of an off putting way, although they have never been down right rude, just kind of....not helpful unless they have to be.
Jeff and Continuum is always really friendly and they seem to do a brisk trade in repairs, so that might be a good sign.
By the way, you won't be able to buy a tyre in New York, they only seem to sell tires there.
