You've got a bargain...
-
• #3
really? cause i was thinking £50 - oh shite, my dads gonna kill me (im 16)
-
• #4
Very good deal you got there.
Regarding the disc hubs, will you be using MTB hubs? They're spaced to 135mm and that frame is most likely 126mm.

Yep, has to go down as bargain of the month. Tell your dad to chill, at least you're not getting fat.

I can see you being sent to bed early for this.

Definitely get the wheels. What would your dad say if you got a bike without wheels? ;)

i was planning to build new wheels?

I have actually never seen/spoken to anyone who has done this disc hub thing. Let us know how it works out.

• #16
16 you say?
(Too much?)
Nope. Just right.

Steal of a price ...
And definitely get the wheels sent on to you, to resell if you decide they're no use.
In fact, I'd take them off your hands, and reduce the buttons you're paying for the frame to half buttons: drop me a line if this works for you.
As for the hubs you're thinking of, you've quoted the specs from the front hub so remember you'll need to get hold of a longer axle - might find it easier (though dearer) to get one of VeloSolo's ready-converted ones.

I've seen a couple of those Velo Solo disc hub conversions in the flesh and I have to say they look good, rock solid too. I'd go for the polished Deore hubs though in preference to black, but more expensive

Probably ask him if he bought it off a scouser?

yeah you can have them if you want, ill hopefully get it delivered sometime next week... will pm you then
And i think i will get an armourtek powder coat as they seem to have good rep here, now how to get all the way to hackney......
also i dont think ill buy the hub from velosolo as i dont need one of such quality - £40 is too much, £15 is fine for a deore

Gotta love those poorly described auctions.
-
• #23
that was a proper steal!!
if your dad gives you a hard time show him the screen and all the love and kudos you got in here with your entreprenuerial skills...make him admit you are a hero...
and then drop on him you've already sold the wheels at a profit...to someone in here...and admit that your even more of a 'little' alan sugar..(no not a wanker)
bat your lashes and get him to buy your new hub...maybe if you're a boy you can drop the eyelash batting routine...
obviously this is all bullshit if the £50 was going towards your nans hip replacement/dad's new toupe fund or 'something'...
oh and use the old black forks....those chrome ones are fugly...
