So yeah, i'm not 100% sure i want this to go, but i never ride it. It looks pretty hanging up, and that's pretty much where it stays. I spent quite a while sourcing all the bits, and have consequent gotten a bit too precious over it. After riding it the other day and being paranoid about someone crashing into me the whole time, i decided that maybe it deserves a better owner with whom it'll get ridden?!

It's open to offers basically, but sensible offers! If someone offers me enough then i'll part with it. I don't really like the idea of splitting it, as i think it looks too good as it is, but i may be persuaded down the line. Hmmm.
    But anyway, here's the spec:

    • Raleigh Track Professional F&F 1973/74 / 56 c-t st, 55 c-c st / undrilled front & rear, although it was drilled at the front when i got it, but was filled by a professional frame repairer. Resprayed by Armourtex. Top tube has unfortunately has a small dent, probably from drops hitting it, which i stupidly didn't get sorted before the respray. Doh.
    • Suntour NJS track hubs (pretty much identical to high flange nuovo record, but a bit rarer perhaps? I've seen less of them anyway)
    • Wolber TX Profil rims (clinchers!)
    • Continental Grand Prix tyres; the only brown(ish) wall tyres that are actually any good for lasting with skidding
    • Campag Record steel headset, still pretty smooth (not too sure which era)
    • Campag Record loose ball BB (again, not too sure which era)
    • Campag Nuovo Record pista cranks 165mm 151bcd, with the super beefy chainring with reinforcing rings on both sides, plus campag c.ring bolts
    • Campag Nuovo Record seatpin
    • Brown 'moc croc' Concor, the only one i've seen
    • Campag Record pedals, still very smooth with no play, although the dust caps have taken a few knocks
    • Ale steel toeclips (reckon they're about a large)
    • Laminated double straps
    • Euro Asia cog (although it could use a silver one really)
    • KMC devil chain
    • Titan chromed stem, this was NOS when i got it
    • Nitto moustache bars, B302 i think, chopped down a little, with brown brooks tape...with some cinelli bars and stem it'd be nearly exactly how it would've been originally, i do have some criterium bars with a 1A stem, and some more brown brooks tape that i could chuck in

If anyone wants anymore pics, then i'll take some. In fact, i may just take some anyway.

  • So, lay it on us, how much?

  • If Alex sells, it will be for a decent amount (as well it should be). Lovely bike.

EDIT - Bodie, if this is your first fix (which I assumed it might be based on your other thread), then I'd say this is too hot for you. + The fork has been filled so no brakes allowed (except clamp-on).

Conclusion, probably not for you - but hey could be wrong!

I'm just interested in knowing the damage, that's all!

  • that is gorgeous if it was my size i would snap it up no questions asked

  • Hehe - fair enough!

It's a funny one to value because Alex has clearly gone to serious troubl to do it justice. That said, £650 ish? Maybe a bit more?

  • I'm no expert, but worth every penny of the fee paid! A beauty.

+1 you dont wanna fuck it up and then be kicking yourself. a raliegh track frame is hard to come by, "you dont wanna pull a nosferatu"

I think you mean a fair bit more.

esp considering what the framesets can go for.
    rondonculous money

  • Yeah took a punt on the frame value!

  • wow alex! The legendary raleigh goes on sale. I hope the eventual buyer realises the enormity of its' gorgeousness.

  • £750-800 easily, there are part like the Titan stem that are worth more than you think nowadays.

  • Aaaaaaarrrrggggghhhh. That is a fucking lush bike.

this ain't no tripple figure bike! there's hell of alot more than a titan stem on there!!

  • I might buy this and put on some spoks, spraycan it orange and then ride straight into oncoming traffic.

  • Aargh! Would have bought this it being smaller ish

w0rd. It's what the original designers would've wanted.

  • very nice bike.

    are you taking offers?

how tall are you? apart from the dent on top tube, is frame okay?

    cheers chris.

    please pm me.

  • Gorgeous bike!

    Perfect build.

  • It deserves framing Alex! Keep it!!

  • How much for the raleigh bike?

  • teh sex

  • so bloody nice.

  • Right, this is now in pieces sob, but it's all for the greater good, as i need a new laptop, NOW! I can take some close up pix of all the bits if required, or alternatively just pop into Cavendish Cycles to have a look in the flesh. Again, no dibs, and again it'll be first come first served, but prices are negotiable i guess...just make an offer. Oh, and i'd definately do a deal on several bits. Yep
So anyway, i've now added prices to the most of the original spec list (i'm keeping a few bits for now):

    • Raleigh Track Professional F&F 1973/74 / 56 c-t st, 55 c-c st / undrilled front & rear, although it was drilled at the front when i got it, but was filled by a professional frame repairer. Resprayed by Armourtex. Top tube has unfortunately has a small dent, probably from drops hitting it, which i stupidly didn't get sorted before the respray. Doh.

    • **SOLD **with steel Campy headset, and Campy BB (111mm BSC)

    • Campag Nuovo Record pista cranks 165mm 151bcd, with the super beefy chainring with reinforcing rings on both sides (48t 1/8"), plus campag pista c.ring bolts

    • **£150 **...can also include a 50t 151 campy ring (3/32") and the original Campy crank bolts.

    • Campag Nuovo Record seatpin 27.2

    • £40

    • Brown 'moc croc' Concor, the only one i've seen

    • SOLD

    • Campag Record pedals, still very smooth with no play, although the dust caps have taken a few knocks, with Ale steel toeclips (reckon they're about a large)

    • SOLD

    • Titan chromed stem, this was NOS when i got it. Unusually has a 27mm clamp, so i had to use a couple of nitto shims to pack it out. I can chuck the shims in.

    • SOLD

    • Nitto moustache bars, B302 i think, chopped down a little.

    • SOLD

  • which rims are they alex?
