As of a couple of days ago Brick Lane Bikes had at least one Velocity Aerohead 32-hole off-centre ("OC") rear rim for £42 or thereabouts - I know, because I was seeking to buy one myself but went for the 36-hole version in the end (they may also have more of those too).
The OC rims are genuinely rear-specific, designed to compensate for the off-centred wheel "dishing' associated with 9 or 10 speed rear wheels. You won't need that if you're riding SS or fixed, AFAIK, and can choose any 700c rim that has the correct number of spoke holes for your hub. £50 is more than enough to buy good quality stuff.

I'd say go for a 1L rim if you are going 36 spokes.

700cc? that's quite powerful. I've never seen motor built into a rim before, we'll need some pics.
