I don't understand the aerobars and non-areo bottle position...
£11 and room for 3 cages:

Lordy be!
How many times...the 'aero' bars are to help cheat wind and provide an alternative hand position that supports the upper body over longer distances..they're set high because as i said several times...they're not just for racing. And AGAIN....i'm fitting a saddle bag!!!...so no saddle mounted bottles!!!
Sighhh. :) -

I'm sorry but what is the point of the wheels?
they seem to be round.
mine are blue. -

I appreciate the aerobars, but the position of the waterbottles don't help with reducing wind resistance.
You didn't mention a saddle bag

It's kind of difficult to mount bottles behind the saddle when it's gonna have a saddle bag mounted there.
Saddle bag...'check'
Frame bag...'check'
Not wanting to carry anything on my back...'check'Can you think of a better solution than mounting them on the fork legs
Hmm...i think i mentioned the saddle bag twice on this page :)
As for wind resistance...i'm not going for the hour record here, i'm riding 240 miles fixed....the aero bars are for comfort first and foremost, but certainly help in the wind too...i'll be no slower with bottles on the forks than i would with panniers....and i see people touring with full panniers and tri bars all the time...for the same reasons as me.

Scott I like it. It's that utilitarian look, especially in poo brown. A bit of scrim net over the frame bags and it could be military issue.

Weird, my browser search function messed up there.

I'll just leave this here.
I like it 'cos of it's anti-fixieness, the opposite of the usual aesthetic. It's also quite obvious this is a bike for going long missions on, not just for a ten miute burn along the hipster highway. It does look like it's made of chocolate though :D

Scott could you mount the bottles on the underside of the tri bars?
In addition maybe? Campag aero bottles would look great (but fall out at the first bump)Its great seeing such nice kit on the anti porn thread rather than the usual hipster/aerospok tosh.
Is there a 'utilitarian' or 'my bikes built for a reason' thread, I just can't be arsed to UTFS right now...

Do you get yummy brake pad juice over the bottles though?

Have you seen the aero tests on bottle cage placement? Turns out that a: you can't guess which is best by intuition and b: behind the saddle is actually quite bad for aerodynamics, as well as being an ergonomic disaster.
