  • saw this today:

    http://www.artcrankpostershow.com/

and wondered where is london's? we're a creative fucking bunch i say, so i vote this to be a fund raising idea for LFGSS, the LCEF, any memorials, the EHBPC etc etc or whatever whatever.

i'm looking into bringing this over here so who else is in?

  • I'd contribute.

  • Sounds like a plan.

  • In like Flynn.

  • i shot the guy an email to see what the deal is for bringing the party o'er here. lets see what he says. is there any press pack about this here forum? who's got some pr on themselves that can be used too? step up art lovers.

  • wank name, looks shite (the artwokkk dat is)

  • yeah? but OUR artwork is gonna be awesome eddie.

  • VB has been talking about a press pack for a while.. get in touch

  • This looks like an awesome idea! Would anybody be able to contribute (even creative amateurs)?

  • yeah? but OUR artwork is gonna be awesome eddie.

Why posters only and not just a general bike art show?

Only for people who couldn't succeed as painters and trace stuff on the computer with a mouse to then screenprint onto a piece of paper?

I think there will be a lot of mechanic/sculptural people wanting to get invloved too, so seems unfair.

  • it would be great if we could have a poster party that featured artists and posters already in the artcrank halls of fame and then our own talents. amature or pro. a nice 50/50 split between new and existing maybe. i don't know. their site says they do a call for entries every now and then so there may be a funky system to abide by, but we'll see.

  • Why posters only and not just a general bike art show?

Then it wouldn't be a Poster Party, would it. Duh.

oh, i thought it said Po*se*r Party

  • PM'd, Matt!

there was a bike art show on redchurch a couple of years ago and it was excellent. my thoughts on the poster show are:

    1. simple medium
    2. affordable art to walk away with
    3. easy installation
    4. get a bulk deal/colab with a printer/print house etc

i dunno, yeah, you could open things up to a whole load of art catagories but i think posters and art prints are affordable art and sales = funds for whatever use we see fit.

  • AND whatever prints you lot come up with, BANG! they can go in the LFGSS book! simples! :D

i think... ben? is that doable?

  • could we make-up a better name?
    A few suggestions:
    PrintWheel
    PosterAwesomeBike
    WickedArtNipple

  • well, we have a few options.
A: we can see if Artcrank are up for us doing a show in their name
B: we do our own show with Artcrank supplying some art - we pick our own name
C: we do our own show entirely off our back with our own name.

  • The PosterAwesomeBike Poster Show 2009.

its coming on a treat. :D

  • C!!! PosterAwesomeBike don't need ArtCrank!

  • Ive already finished a poster. And im in.

  • C!!! PosterAwesomeBike don't need ArtCrank!

well, it would kinda add kudos if they were involved somehow (maybe they can supply some prints from the US or something) but i'm open to option C. totally.

  • arty sponsors will most likely be needed. most cruicially a good screen printers. hand screened prints on nice paper would be sexy and sell well. ideas welcome.

  • looks hip
    im in guise
got some mad art i made

  • ok this looks like its simmering nicely. in talks with mr sano so we'll keep you posted.
