he's a bit slower than me and as i'm still having problems with a tendon in my right knee i was happy to ride at a steady pace with company. the other reason was that i had planned to have a pub lunch and get a train later in the day as there is probably no chance of getting bikes on the train earlier without booking, and i'm not hanging around on my tod all day.
if i'm honest i should be letting my knee rest properly and not do any riding let alone 120mile overnight rides. :-)

I'm also hanging around for most of the day as my parents live close and have thought about a pub lunch so would be happy to accompany you. If you are sensible and rest your knee though no worries there's always next year
