  • 120 miles is a long way, but it is doable if you pace yourself, eat properly, don't get pissed up the night before, have a comfortable setup and most importantly ride with people you can work with.

Find a group toride with that you feel you can do a turn on the front every once in a while, that way you won't be hanging off the back the whole ride and depleting energy reserves.

Things I've read estimate that by drafting people you use between 30-60% less energy by riding around 6 inches behind the person in front, been on several forum rides where people suffer from a combination of not really taking this on board and are riding withpeople who can sustain a pace which is too high for them even with this energy saving.

Good luck to all going, things have conspired that I can't do it again :( next year though!

most of the 500-700 people on the dynamo have no idea how to ride in a group, and TBH i wouldn't want to ride with randoms unless it was obvious they were comfortable with group riding as it's too dangerous.
you see people riding in loose groups on the dynamo but they certainly aren't helping each other get there with less effort.
