  • yeah get her to do some, although we are definately going to need some vegan cakes. can she do them? i'm going to scour the webnet for some ideas.

don't forget we will be charging per slice, not much, but it'll all go to polo/paying folk back for materials/ingredients so she should get her money back

  • i've got some kind asking to do then :)
Shouldn't be hard, she likes making cakes

    On the Tea/coffee/squash front.
Who has teacups etc that could be used?
    I think we have some...
and we also have an Urn for the hot water

any vegan preferences for the cakes?

  • we should get some disposable cups really for drinks. eco friendly?

just make sure vegan cakes is tasty, and a couple of varieties. good stuff oliver

  • disposable deffo for squash & water etc, but really china cups would be best for the hot drinks...
    pure becuse they insulate.

    can you source eco cups?

  • I can put up the newcastle 3 , i'll contact them ?

  • nice one
i'll sort out cups for cold and hot drinks and vegan unfriendly cake

oliver, still ok to source the vegan cake, and you still ok for doing hot drinks? if so, want me to get tea bags, UHT milk/soya milk, sugar, etc?

  • also also, we'll need alot of water, say 1 litre per person, say 70 people,.. do the math

has anyone got large hygienic water containers???

  • Bogey- I'd say it's the players responsibility to bring along their own water, we're not their mothers! Cake/tea etc will be awesome though- are we still thinking of doing a bbq too??

  • greg, its water for squash/tea/coffee! a bbq would be awesome, not forgetting waitrose is a hop skip away so folk can buy their own grub. did will say he had a couple of drum bbq's?

  • I have a Large bbq,

and give me a number of cakes and i'll get them
    as for tea/milk
I can get tea & sugar, if you get milk & coffee

  • say 60 people, say two cake slices each and one for the memories, 180 slices of cake.

do 38% of 180 slices worth of vegan cake
and i'll do 62% of 180 slices worth of non vegan cake, although mostly flapjack and chocolatey treats

by the way 38% is an accurate figure of how many vegans we will be feeding.

  • hmm

thats a fuck lot of cake

am i doing my calculations right?

    someone put me right

  • Bogey, I am reckoning on 16 slices of cake per cake (18cm) which if sold for a £1 a slice will break even and cover some of the other costs. I am planning on making 3 cakes (48 slices) and some cookies (20) and amaretti biscuit type things (again 20). None of them are vegan.

  • fantastic thanks for that barney!
at least we will be well catered for.

  • I'll do 4 vegan ones =)

    any preferences?
    http://www.vegansociety.com/food/recipes/cakes.php

  • apple, coffee, chocolate, brazil nut maybe?
    they all sound awesome

  • Go For It =)

  • Areet folks, sorry to crash your thread but any joy on accommodation for the Newcastle 4? I see it's been mentioned by ASOF. A floor or even somewhere to put up a couple of tents would be cool - we're a bit boned otherwise. PM me or something. Hope preparations are going well. CHEERS, Matt

    PM'ed

  • Okay, so, I have kindly been informed by a band that I play with that we are playing for a Fete on Saturday, this means I'll have to leave about 12.15ish and return at 3ish which is a real bum, would someone be able to cover for that time?

and what time are we going to meet in the morning to set up?

    =)

  • I'm sure you guys have got it all covered, but are you going to have enough time for all the games starting at 12? At Oxford they had 16 teams and finished up around 7 - 8ish. Could an 11am start be better?

  • I think SlammingActualMatt has already changed it to a 10 oclock start

  • 9.30 registering?

Cool. But you may want to tell the teams. I know quite a few from London are getting in at 10.30am
