Yezzir, that bike was done for Lance for the Giro this year I believe. If you look at the top of the seat stay it has that star with andre the giants face and at the side of the head tube it has his little obey tag, which I use in the loosest terms.

I saw a geezer with a full arm tattoo riding this bike through Braintree the other day. If you are on here then PM me, would be good to talk about a local drinks/ride thing...

A straight-stayed Hetchins with basic (for a Hetchins) lug work hardly counts as either rare or classic. What's the alternative, anyway? Spending months and hundreds of pounds sourcing period correct parts so you can enter it in Concours d'Elegance competitions, and then not wanting to ride it because you'll wear out your precious Chater-Lea chainring.
+1.
I use whatever I can afford/find to make my bikes as close to how I want them as possible, I ultimately am the one to ride my bikes and my enjoyment of them is mostly in the riding and not the worrying about whether I have offended someone with my choice of parts. -

Be quick. Given the set up, he might not be around long.

Exactly!
Seems us older riders have less of a sense of fashion about us, which I like.
Are you John Peel really? -

I don't mind this bike, wouldn't choose it for myself but it was being ridden and that's what counts.

I was referring to the lack of rear brake/foot retention, not suggesting that Pista riders were fly by night.

If safety is your concern then I reckon the first thing he could do is take his iPod off whilst riding:(
Just by sheer coincidence I saw him at exactly the same junction which saw me get sideswiped by angry motorist a few years ago whilst on my De Rosa(Fortunately only the bike and not me got damaged) and images of bike/car accidents did flash before my eyes. -

Aesthetically speaking it's not to everyone's taste (just like every other bike in these threads).
I'm not a huge fan of the brown/gold or the sloping top-tube of the Brooklyn frame but that said I admire the utilitarian aspect and the sheer bike geekery on show. On the whole, I like the bike but not necessarily for the way it looks.
