I'm hoping to do it (getting steroid injections in my shoulder on Friday though...) - I've got a ticket back from Darsham to get home, but it changes at Ipswich, where I can only presume there will be a huge crowd of people waiting to get on the train...

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but you might not get onto the train at Darsham, even with a ticket. There are tales every year of people being turned away once there are a certain number of bikes on the train - even if they have reservations - and as I was leaving the beach last year I passed a whole group of people on their way back from the station, saying they hadn't been allowed on the train. I hope you'll be one of the lucky ones!
