  • Post here if you want to meet up and/or ride with the locals in Dublin.

    **

    Tonight: Wed 6/24/09**
    RI-RA
    11pm
    80's, Indie, Electro
    Free!

  • At first I was like 'Seven views and no replies? what the fuck?'

Then I read the message and I was all like 'What the fuck is this? 'The locals', who the fuck are they? We're the locals and this shouldn't be an announcement, it should be a request to fucking ride with us' haha.

Then I was all like 'This is some shit attempt at social media marketing, its some douche bag ASTROTURFING and attempting to get some 'trendy cool fixie riders' down to Ri-Ra'

And then finally I was all like 'Jokes on him, Ri-Ra WAS a cool place to go, just like Hogans, and since 'fixies' WERE cool fixie riders will flock there naturally... but now that its recognized as 'cool' by those in marketing finally dick heads riding fixies will get the message and move on to the next fad.'

And now I'm all like 'yeah I posted that shit'.

    Peace

  • Forget Ri-Ra, I'm going to the Stephen Roche Crit in Dundrum tonight. Will be pretty fucking cool

  • What's the Stephen Roche crit? Crit of what?

  • A crit or criterium, is a road race around a short circiut. Really fast and good to watch for spectators.

  • shameless advertising

    apologies for my 'shameless advertising'.
i just thought it would be cool to meet some cyclists in dublin since i'm visiting from la for a short time.

    what a shame...

  • yes! I was hoping my reply would be a good example of good old fashioned irish hospitality! And it was!
    Welcome!

Sorry you got negative vibes from the people here. I'm from Dublin but not living there at present, and as a tourist/outsider now myself, I know how nice it is to have people make the effort to meet up and go for a beer. If you're still around by the end of August, two months from now, I'd be happy to bring you out on the town for a beer or ten.

i want to do a ride with you guys, maybe sunday???
if someone sets up the ride, i will be there.
i actually got a gig playing tunes at Shebeen Chic on Saturday night, so if you guys want to stop by and meet a sulky foreigner who shamelessly plugs social events to meet potentially cool folks, then please stop by. i'd love to meet you all!!!

    hey matt!
i hope you're around because i'm going to call you via skype for the byke. the crank or the derailleur on the mountain bike is clanking loudly so i think it might be best to use your beater.

hey! where were you? i only met one person that night. i play fun music from many genres: jeremy jay, liquid liquid, cut copy, beatles, ragtime, joy division, some post punk, no-wave and 80's. it was a great night!

  • I went but couldnt find were ur desk was and henceforth didnt know who was djing. I was downstairs mainly at the ol recession club, I had the ridiculously stupid quiff and red fred perry shirt

  • i'm here with matt81 and we just planned a ride.

    When: Wednesday, July 1st
Where: St. Steven's Green (park entrance)
    Time:** 7pm**

    ride, drink, dance!
(i'm thinking we end up at ri ra, but i'm open to suggestions.)

Please come! This is my last week in Ireland and I'd love to meet you all!
