It was supposed to be washed at 40C, it was washed by hand in cold water, apparently.
The seller seems to say that because the label says 40C you must wash it at 40C and not in cold water.
This is patently bollocks - the temperature on the label is the maximum recommended, not the exact temperature the garment must be washed at. To say that an item with a 40C machine wash label cannot be hand washed in cold water is laughable.
You would think someone who makes their living retailing clothes would at least be aware of basic care instructions. The buyer may well actually be at fault, if for example they haven't told the truth (I wouldn't know either way), but the seller comes out looking at best incompetent and at worst, dishonest.
