"UTFS"; Good advice there from the joined-three-weeks-and-a-year-ago-member. If he can get it, why can't other people?

I was going to do a duathlon over here (Northern Ireland) on the fixed the other day - in the end I didn't manage to get there on time but it was discussed when I was there... I had fitted a front and it was generally agreed with a front brake (on closed road) that they would let me compete. Next time!

You can do it on a single-speed but not fixed. BTF rules state that you must have a free-wheel and two brakes fitted. Also don't forget that you've gotta plug your bar ends if they aren't already.

It's alright for you isn't it? I've lost a year.
Has anyone any thoughts about or experience of doing a sprint triathlon on a fixed set up?
I am doing my first one Sept 18th and dont want to and cant afford to buy a flash geared road bike
the bike part is 20 k and winning times are around 32 to 36 minutes. mostly flat..
i run a 42-15 which is 73.9 inches i think.
Viable? too spinny for the 5k run after??
