Thanks for the helpful tip. It seems the Kryptonite New York Fahgettaboudit Mini is the best option. If anyone else has a similar question there is very good thread called 'Locks that work'. http://www.londonfgss.com/thread17938.html
I dont think the theives here in Manchester are as prepared as in London, mainly because there isnt a bike market I am aware of to easily resell the items.
