Thanks guys - theres a whole 'other' shed full of oldschool bmx bikes too!
It's going to take myself and his brother months to go through it all!!
I shared his love of bmx so i'm not too bad at guestimating the value of those for re-sale, but admit to being a bit of a numpty with the road frames... -

Without having a closer look at the frames, I'd imagine the Pinarello and the Alan could be worth the most. The Bianchi could be fairly easy to sell as it appears to be complete (subject to wheels).
As for the others, are there forks to go with them? Unless there is something amazing about them I'd guess you'd be looking at selling them for about £75 per frame for conversions (just because that is all people really want old road frames for).
Probably best to wait until Dogsballs sees this thread, he loves valuing things.

that Pinarello looks like a Vitus to me?..

Check out internet forums/mailing lists on classing road bikes (classicrendezous.com should have something like it).
3 last frames( Alan, Bianchi and Not-A-Pinarello) will be the top earners I think.
Tour De Ville had lots of Diamants- I would look at their prices.
Some Geminiani's are collectable I think. Not sure about this one -

Concorde and Diamant are Dutch and without original fork would probably fetch about £60-90 on eBay. I'd guess both were made in the 80s.
The Pinarello and Bianchi will fetch more because of the forks (£100-150 maybe), being Italian and they look like they are in better condition. The Campagnolo bits on the Bianchi themselves are worth around £50-70.
I think the very top one will attract peoples' attention because of the the way the stays join the seat tube below the insertion point. Other than that I can't see anything special about it. £50 - 90 maybe.

Think about the components too; if the stem on that Bianchi is a Cinelli titanium Grammo then it's worth quite a bit on it's own, for example.

Compare this to the 'Pinarello'/Vitus: http://http://cgi.ebay.com/Vintage-60cm-Peugeot-Carbon-Road-Bike-Frame-by-Vitus_W0QQitemZ150354444630QQcmdZViewItemQQptZRoad_Bikes?hash=item2301d2c156&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A12%7C66%3A2%7C39%3A1%7C72%3A1205%7C240%3A1318%7C301%3A1%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50

I found that selling frames on this forum is incredibly easy - never had to wait longer than a few hours for an offer. If you go down this route make sure to make a little donation at the end.

I'd be interested in the pinarello if it's my size.
i know this isn't an ad, but you know i thought I'd say.
pm me.i'm sorry to have led off with a business like post, but I wasn't sure which way round to put it.
I hope that you and your riding pal's family are doing ok, and I'm sorry for your loss.

i think 75.00 is a bit of an underestimate. if you take good detailed pictures of them and give them decent auction titles they will realise their correct value on a site like ebay. its very important to offer worldwide postage. collection only will cancel out more than three quarters of the bicycle enthusiasts across the globe.
bad auction titles = gents racer frame, gents racing bike frame interesting lugs, 80's racing bike very light.
bear in mind i am trying to help and everyday sellers offer good bicycles with titles like these.do not wait for one auction to end before listing the other.
the search profile of for example the bianchi and the pinarello will help to get attention for the lesser known frames that are still good but would not get as much attention by virtue of potential buyers not knowing as much about them. i dont think you will need reserve prices on these. accept that some will sell for much more and some will sell for a bit less. thats life and there's a reccession.hope that helps.
sorry if i missed something
Hi all - after some of your expert knowledge!
My good friend and riding buddy recently passed away after a long illness - and his family have asked me to help clear out his cycle collection.
I spent most of yesterday trying to catalogue the collection.
I just wondered if anyone could help identify any of the frame models? ages? and possibly a rough estimate of their value??
It would really help me to advertise them accurately, move them on, and get some much needed funds for his folks for the unexpected funeral costs...
cheers is advance
Colin
