hi,
[waffly preamble]after years of mild pestering i finally got my missus on her bike this spring. i tempted her with a stylish but megaton-heavy dutch style jobbie. she took to cycling in town really well but quickly realised that the dutch bike was less than ideal (all the well documented drawbacks of being slow, weighing too much to carry up stairs, having the agility of an oil tanker and taking up way too much space in our small flat)[/waffly preamble]
So i'm looking for the logical next step for her. she wants a "cute old racing bike". It would get regular light use. i'm thinking either a singlespeed or geared road bike. Probably not fixed, although obvs i can convert (deconvert?) the right bike should it be required. I think she's open minded as to lady's/men's/mixte frames.
She's 5'7". I don't know her instep but she's got long legs for her height.
anyone got anything that might fit that bill? Budget would be in the £150-200 region.
