Fixed again, the clicking noise was still there, but not so noticable when the cranks wasn't tightened.
it turn out that the Campangolo chainring on a Miche Advanced cranks wasn't entirely in-line with the chain, it was at less a little under a millmetre out and consquencey cause the clicking sound (I think, or the teeth shaped slighty different to the Miche).
swapped it back to the Miche Advanced chainring - perfection.
