Its not just the helmet stops you dieing. its stops you peeling the top off your head as you slide along the road. something ive been glad to avoid. also - its not always down to being hit - bike malfunction can drop you unexpectedly. (and hippy - i didnt dredge this up, someone else did. anyway. youd never find me)
