Old 1970's Dawes Windsor road bike, don't know frame size, BB height 250, 170mm cranks, on 700c x 25 tyres :(
The bottom bracket on my conversion's barely 24cm from the floor. I've been riding it with 170mm cranks for two years and I'm still in one piece.
Do a wee experiment for me, eh? Put one of your pedals in the 6 o'clock position and grab the bike by the saddle. Now lean it over till the pedal touches the floor. I bet the bike's at an alarming angle at the point of contact - much further than you'd be able to comfortably cope with while pedalling.
Hippy's right, keep the heid on corners and it'll be fine.
