Crass as it may seem, I'd quite like to get some clinchers for bombing this around london, so have two options:
(i) rebuild the wheels with clincher rims using the original hubs. If so, I'm wondering what rims would suit - at my best guess the bike is late 70s (the frame/spec is similar to this one, including the star cut outs on the lugs...http://www.cicli-berlinetta.de/ciclib_bikes7.html)
(ii) Alternatively, in the interests of saving a puppy's life, I'm thinking about a new wheel build specifically for the road. Advantage being I can save the tubs for a rainy day when I finally get my arse over to herne hill.
In which case, I'd probably go for phil wood hubs as they're bomb proof, but again the question is what rims might suit best...can't seem to find any campag clinchers from that era (if they even existed?), the atlanta '96s might look ok, but maybe a bit deep (and pricey). I've got some nice 80s FIR silver semi-deep rims on my gios tt bike, but I can't find those anywhere anymore. Anodised deep-Vs might be a bit flash for these purposes.
Any suggestions on rims, including offers for sale (rim or complete wheelset), let me know...
Hi
My latest acquisition has been a Viner track bike. Currently looks like this:
![](http://i.ebayimg.com/15/!BUmjiJ!BWk~$(KGrHgoH-EMEjlLlt44QBKOUiNBZGQ~~_12.JPG)
At the mo, its full original campag, including the wheels, which are record pista hubs laced to campag 'ypsilon' tubular rims. Planning to keep everything as is, except maybe the wheels.
