We saw some Fixed bikes locked to the fence in the car park . Something with a bare metal laquered frame. Met Pinkgotmitts from here and saw a couple of colnago road bikes . 4 from Cambridge went down to Avebury stones then we met up with them and carried on down to Stonehenge . I must recommend Avebury as a destination in the future. Stonehenge was full of cops ,fences and security guards and too many people. it was just purposefully as unpleasant as they could make it. Even with a little remote control aerial camera.
Avebury had all the usual hippy's doing their stuff but was a only a few hundred people . No searching your bags and generator lighting and nasty men in stab proof giving you evil stares! Avebury is about 25 miles north of Stonehenge ,so probably not much further from London too. The best bit for me was cycling down the closed section of the A303 weaving though people carrying all their stuff ,felt like an apocalyptic scene from a movie . -
