  • Hey,

I've got a "Duell" pursuit frame for sale, columbus tubing, 28" back/27" front. Duell is an old Dutch track bike manufacturer and is pretty well known for it's quality, and hard to come by, especially pursuit frames as you may be aware off.

The frame is in great condition for his age. ('89) It has some minor spots but you won't even notice them if you're not specificily looking for flaws. I'll let the pictures do the talking. :)

I'm open for cash offers, and i'd also like to trade this frame for another beauty in the same size (60-61, only track frames)

I'm located in the Netherlands so the frame will have to be shipped. We can probably work something out shipping-wise.

    Question thru PM, please.

(includes Shimano 600 headset/bottombracket. both in great condition.)

  • pics?

  • Information. In fact anything to go on?
Ah, feck it. I don't want to miss out, I'll buy it for Fiddy dorra...

    ;)

  • If it's anything like the Duell in TDV, it'll be gorgeous.
Cant belive the Duell in TDV hasn't sold. I'd love to own that!

  • the fact that the frame/forks cost more than most hipster bikes is why. beautiful and deserving price though.

  • Well, didn't ask how much is was going for when i was last in there. But the guys told me £400 when they were based in Seven Sisters. Is it much more than that now?

  • pics?

    Updated!

I don't have much info on the frame. It was riden by "Jan van Dalen", apparantely he was a pro rider and also one of the founders/owners of Duell.

  • Very nice frame! good luck with the sale.

  • Damn that is nice.

  • how much do you want for the frameset? just a rough price would be helpful, if you are open to offers then you are welcome to state so alongside a price (ONO).

  • Updated/bump.

  • I'd love to see a shot of it from side on. It's hard to get an idea of the geom from those photos.

  • just wondering, how is 28" back? are you sure is not 27" back 26" front

  • its more likely 700c and 650c

  • that is what I though

  • It's damn beautiful, I can tell, I saw it ^ ^
It definitely has a 27'' front as I putt my 26'' in there to check.

  • Lovely frameset, just what I am after...

    PMD

  • In which case it's probably 700c front and rear..?

FYI, 27" (or 630 mm, i think?) normally refers to a size of wheel that is bigger than 700c (which is 622 mm), and 28" is even more confusing. Some people describe 700c as 28"... anyone care to clarify?

  • Lol, i've had this convo/discussion with alot of people and nobody seems to agree.

It's a 700C in the back ("Standard" racing wheels fit, so does my 700C H+SON, perfect fit) And as far as the 27" front wheel.. That's what the seller told me. It does fit a 650C (26", no?) and it should also fit a 27".

As you may see I'm not 100% sure about the measurements. But it should be a wheel between the 650C and the 700C. (700C ALMOST fits, 1cm~ off)

  • 99.9% sure it was built by Jan van Dalen.
Duell is his own company and I think he had/has no employees.

I raced with him in the late 1970's and early 1980's.
He was a good amateur (Gazelle amateur team), but didn't make it to the top ranks.
    Neither did I :-(

But he made nice frame sets.

I doubt that he ever raced this one...

By the way, Jan's brother, Brady, does very nice paint jobs.
Not only all the Duell frames, but a lot of other stuff as well.

  • love it. wish i had some spare cash and it fit a 700 on the front

    :/

  • Updated with measurements. No clue if it's the correct way to measure, though. (sizes in centimeters)

  • Pmd again.

  • Generally, top tubes are measured from the center of the seat tube, to the center of the head tube. So the top-tube length is probably more like 59cm...

  • Last buyer flaked. So it's up for sale again, aeronaught has dibs.

Small update in my startpost. I've put up a picture with wheels in it, picture taken from the sight so you can get a good look. Front wheel is a 26"
