  • any snappy snaps will do it.
i recomend the Brixton branch highly.

  • Snappy Snap marchmont street is near central, and pretty good (it's my local).

they also do medium format in 1 hour.

  • Is their E6 work quick? The last roll I had (about a month ago) I was waiting 2 weeks for from a certain store beginning with J. Hence my wanting to find somewhere I can stick with.
Will have a ride over to Marchmont Street tonight to find the place and then may pop in tomorrow morning to have a sniff around.

  • Chris that XG-M is nice. Hard to find lenses for it, but if you ever do, I think they'll be good ones.
I used an X-700 before switching to an Olympus Om1. Both were excellent. The Minolta felt sturdier.

I have a whole kit of lenses for it, i think it was all past down from my grandpa. off the top of my head i have the following:

    Primes:
    28 f2.8
    50 f1.4
    85 F2.8
    300 f4.5

    Zooms:
    35- 70 f2.5 Macro
    85 - 205 f3.8

I've also got a few tele-converters, and lens filters. Its the first real camera I ever owned, and finding it back home was amazing. I haven't been using it for work, but i've been taking it every where and stacking up the rolls of tri-X that need to be developed in my fridge.

  • Fuck Crappy Snaps for developing. Every single roll I've got back from there has been dirty, covered in orange dried on gunk that will not wash off.

Only place I trust is Peak Imaging in Sheffield. Fast turn around, cheap, and everything has been perfect.

how can you trust your E6 film to them?!?
you need to clip test or at least be able to run +1/4 +1/3 etc
take it to a proper lab, usual turnaround of 2hrs

  • Well not having used them I'm not in a position yet to make any judgements on trust. But I do frown at the thought of a lab called "snappy snaps".
The chap I used to use in Brighton didn't even have a shop name. It was just a portercabin on an industrial estate near moulsecoomb but like Peak Imaging sounds, he was spot on. First rate jobs, quickly and cheaply. That's the sort of place I'm ideally after in London's famous London.
Sheffield's a bit far unfortunately Tim! Was thinking more Finsbury park..
    The search continues.

Only certain Snappy Snaps are shit, otherwise there's a handful of them that are pretty fine.

that like saying that all black cab drivers are cunts.

    Fucking expensive!!!!!!!

  • i totally had a (sanely priced) lomo lca and then totally forgot it in a taxi after the (drunk) driver realised he didn't know where he was going and we had to get out and rush to find another taxi so we didn't miss our flight. holidays.

now i totally have an olympus xa. i totally like it.

  • I have an old Pentax camera somewhere, I must dig it up

  • FAO: *CYOA* and GrowUp

Film Processing. From a list-thread about medium format film processing, but obviously they'd do 35mm too.

  • Not exactly photography related, but I used to work with ciné films for a couple of months. I really enjoyed that.

    they do seem good yes!

friend of mine got some streaky prints back from this place recently, but he claims they are normally good.

  • GA2G, with these lists you are spoiling us.

  • You were spoiled already.

    ;)

  • obviously snappy snaps are never going to be a pro level lab, but for what i use them for, i have never had complaints.

  • they do seem good yes!

can_i_have_a_p_please_bob, you do realise that people will abbreviate your forum name when thet meet you at drinks?

    Be prepared for "can_pee", "have_a_pee", or "can_I_have", or "I_have_a_pee".

Mine has been abbreviated to "G_A", most of the time.

Good choice Sir, I pretty much only shoot medium and large format these days but when I shoot the odd roll of redscale I always go for my XA2, they are great 35mm cameras!

  • I realise this is not classifieds but I am selling a Contax G2 with 55 lens and flash. Pm me if interested.

  • AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!!! kodachrome's dead!!!!!!!!!

    (rip)

  • What?? the 64 ISO one?

  • boots do quite a good service and for specialised printing / developing needs there is a boutiquey place on poland street loads of strips of developed film hanging from the ceiling type of thing
