Fixed gear track bikes have become affiliated with the streets of New York, but they are the latest influence to arrive from America to the UK. Fixed gear gives the rider a better feel for the bike, especially when riding in icy or rainy conditions, and exercises your legs more than geared cycles. Riding fix gear gives you a better connection with bike so you get more control making it very popular in cites like New York and London. The track bikes have flip-flop rear hubs meaning that you can switch back to free wheel riding when you need to, and with front and rear caliper brakes it is designed to be safely ride-able in the cities.

wow first time on to sell something and already i'm feeling the love. - why do you feel the need to hate?
i buy and sell bikes on ebay from time to time- no secrets or appologies. it's 'yellowsweeptwo' on ebay - everyone is free to have a look at everything i've bought and sold many "brookes sadles"
luckily everything i buy off there is perfect and brought to my door and then a man comes and boxes it up for (the same guy that's done all the skilled work on it) and takes it away - no risk, no travel, no knowledge, no tools, and certainly not loads and loads of invested time sourcing bits and boxes at all.
it's a known item put together and sent by someone who knows what they're doing - there is a list of steel wheeled, crashed, seized lemon as long as my arm that i've done 40 mile round trips to pick up.
if it's easy - do it yourself (ps. here's a tip - a bike's value is not dictated by how many gears it's got on -)
actually the precedent i followed was ebay number: 280344474547
gold star for anyone who can tell me where they've seen it before ???
THAT SAID ANY SENSIBILE OFFERS TAKEN AS I MIGHT HAVE STARTED IT A BIT HIGH.

Whether you do the repairs yourself or not isn't really the point, the 'done' thing is to normally introduce yourself, engage in the community a bit etc before you start selling things... Also listing a bike as 'polo style' is always going to get a few peoples backs up in the same way as listing conversions as 'pista, fixie, track etc' it looks like your blatantly trying to cash in on something you don't actually partake in, and thirdly suicide hub conversions don't always get the best reception due to their unpredictability, especially if bought by a first time fixed rider even with a brake... Hence the harsh reception you've recieved....

Sorry for the lack of sentence breaks, posting from a phone which won't let me...

if you mean do i hang out looking hip , playing polo and going on alley catsd - i'm afraid not - if that's what you mean by " something you don't actually partake in" if you mean 100 mile plus a week over the pennines on one fixed cog (with no lock ring!), then yes actually it's something i've been doing for years.
i've done near 100 fixed conversions from full strip and pain resto rebuilds to quick rear wheel conversions
polo style just refers to the handlebars - not being sold as a polo bike as no doubt for some reason unknown to me it won't be right oor polo.
suicide hub? i've ridden loads on my track hub with no lock ring with no problems - i've never ever had a suicide hub go suicidal on me or had any complaints on the conversions i've done - i 'm aware it's not the preference
- i'd like to get a track hub on there - if anyone wants a fixed/fixed track hub planet X 'track style' wheel i've built up = - then i can add that to the bike ( i have front as well if required) - but it's not going to keep the cost down, prorbably lookng at 80 a piece

I have bought a few bikes of Number6 and guess what sold them on again ,I find him helpfull and he does know what he is talking about regards builds etc, sometimes you can't do right for wrong on forums not just this one,to be fair back in the day there were no lock rings so this how all riders rode, weather you play polo alley cat or just ride no one is cashing in really just trying to use the language that is used in general, and at the end of the day it's better than unipak.

ahhhhhh chill your boots dude
you got ragged because it looks like you've just come on here to sell, the thing is overpriced IMO and your description of 'polo style' is slightly erroneous [suicide hub and that gearing]
what do you expect? we all love our bikes here and of course you're going to get nit-picking bike freaks calling you out on stuff
As Dogsballs would say this is not ebay my friend
:^]

• #17
here's a few i've done
-
• #18
who cares?
it's overpriced, and is worth about what you paid for it, if not less.
gas pipe tubing and not even a proper rear wheel.
oh and if you think i don't know, I've had a suicide hub, and it fucked up.
considering i've seen much, much nicer bikes go for less, including kingcutters stuff either drop the price by 170 pounds or dont even expect a sale.bye.

oh the pics aren't comming up. F**k it. there you go the gears and hub - not right for polo - how was i to know - i never do it??
finally to put this to bed it was 'polo style' just because it had the chopped riser bars ( - on Ebay i've chucked as many key words as possible in ). you've seen the pic - it is what it is nothing more or less than i've said - a road bike with upright handlebars with suicide hub and a reasonable road gearing for around town
.you're right mistakes were made , fingers were pointed it went in too high. but considering i've seen 2 used MA2 rims on here - 30 gbp
and one turbo champion stripes leather sadlle - 30 gbpthen 60 gbp is ridculously low. i've seen 2 bikes i paid 25 and 10 gbp respectively go for over 200 gbp each on here - it's bl**dy alchemy - lead into gold - if you want a bargain then buy the tools, put in the hours and travel and take some gambles..........
the trike i'm selling (at lowest book price) i picked up for 160 plus 60gbp for the spokes , rim and hub that make up the front wheel - so what? it's mine it's worth 450 - that's called 'opportunity cost' .
anymore info on frame anyone?????
it's 80s/90s so should be columbus - Diamant is from belguim
- serious offers?????

stop bitching then and make a donation to the forum as you seem to be making yourself a bit of profit on here
you can make a donation using the button in the top left of the webpage

eyebrows - you obviously didn't build it up properly
- no grease, no oil, no thread lock (which only acts as a lubricant at higher torques) white spirit on both threads - wait until dry then tighten up nice and tight using the chain on the bike as a chain whip - rotax or whatever it's called (BB lopck nut is pretty superfluous but add acording to taste)
big daddy wayne - no you're operating on false assumptions - i bought the bikes - i didn't sell them - missed out a bit there

i don't want to get all bitchy, but the point is that this isn't a normal market place it's a community. people are expected to charge a "fair price" which would usually be considered as what you payed plus a small bit for effort, not what you would get on ebay. if you want to make 200 pounds on conversions then put them on ebay, if you want to sell them on here, then you should drop your price a bit and make a donation.
