An important notice for all those planning to take part tomorrow:
One of the essential requirements of us taking part in this event is to have Public Liability insurance. It has been a primary aim of the London Hardcourt Bike Polo Association to secure insurance that would cover its activities, including the European Hardcourt Bike Polo Championships in August.
I’m really happy to announce that, in a joint effort from LHBPA and the organisers of the Euros, we’ve managed to get insurance cover for this event, and for the rest of the year, that will allow us to play at events like this where insurance is a requirement, and it will also keep players indemnified (i.e. if you cause an accident on court and get sued, you’ve got insurance cover).
In order to be covered by the insurance as a player, you MUST be a member of London Hardcourt Bike Polo Association, and therefore you must join up in order to take part in Saturday’s event at Emirates.
The LHBPA has an annual subscription of £5 (This is a token amount and doesn’t reflect the running costs of the organisation). For this amount, you will not only get the insurance cover for specific LHBPA events, but you will be supporting the aims of the LHBPA and their activities in their first year.
Mr. Matt Vidal will be on hand to sign up everyone who wants to play tomorrow before games start. You will be asked to read and agree to a statement beforehand that outlines your responsibilities as a player, then give Matt your name, address and signature, along with five shiny pounds. Matt will also have a copy of the agreed aims and obectives of the LHBPA so you can see what you’re supporting.
