  • i'd like to stick some drops on my roadrat, but it's drilled for v brakes so you can't use normal road levers etc....

the 287s pull the right amount of cable, apparently, for vees. anyone had any experience of them?

    Tom.

  • Yeah, I've pretty much looked at most of the stuff online about how they work and so on. Just wondered if anyone has used them because they look a bit cheap in pics. I don't like buying crappy stuff!

  • ditch the roadrat and buy a proper road bike :-)

  • nah, i bought it because it got me the most for my money, plus its a lot more versatile than a pure road frame. :)

i'm tempted by mini v brakes, since they can be used with normal drop brakes. decisions, decisions.

edit: now these look pretty good!

  • Must admit I have tried these with V's and they were fairly useless. mini v's with road levers tend to be toss as well. why not try some nice wide cantis. Easy to adjust and more classy looking. No doubt the next person along will think just the opposite though!!

  • Stop digging up 2 year old threads, I'm sure the problem has been solved by now.
