I love my bag.
its taken me on 3 or four week long holidays, with laptop, clothes and books.
and on two separate occasions I've had people ask who makes them.

I say go for the bigger bag, you'll never regret it- cos if you need it smaller then use hte compression straps, and if you want a small cycling bag pick up a bonk bag as well, for those jaunts into town where you need just your books/ cycling tools.
and as for colors- get what you like from scott the range is unbeliveable.
just don't get black and white.
