    Will not work, you need something solid to screw the cleat into so the whole thing doesn't rip out from the pulling and twisting forces exerted on it. Even more so if you are riding fixed when there will be extra stresses from braking.

    That is why I use a complete insole from an old cycling shoe so you get all the benefits of a bike shoe with something you like walking around in.

    Also why I asked the OP how the cleat-plate is secured to the shoes she has made.
