I'm a big fan of 'Bike for Freedom'
It's quite communist though.

Is this for tourists? Most of the previous schemes like the one in Barcelona, are just for the residents.
-

Yeah, I noticed that in Barcelona as well. Barcelona hates tourists though (the graffiti says so). In Paris and Copenhagen, anyone could use it.

It's for one and all I think.
You need a pin code and whatnot, which you can get in Barcelona, but you need to have a Spanish bank account which is troublesome. I'm sure that will be eradicated in time.

In Barca you need to have proof of residence, I asked my mate who lives there.

what colour will the bikes be?
I think it should be called Bozza bikes after our great mayor, but only if the bikes are yellow/blonde/fat -

I think it should be called Bozza bikes after our great mayor, but only if the bikes are yellow/blonde/fatI have no idea. Although I suspect eye catching and carrying large Logos and whatnot.
Not overly keen to call them 'Fuck-up useless get' bikes to be honest.

I like LondOn Bike, good job Donut
Need a catchy name for the new London bike about scheme I'm working on.
Good names welcome. Shite names not.
Cheers flowers.
Also, the interview I did with Cavendish will be up soon on the Oakley team site. Some of the questions posed from guys are in there!
Here are some quick facts:
There will be 7,000 bikes in play (there are 10,000 black cabs in the whole of London)
Zone 1 is pretty big: kings cross – elephant & castle...notting hill to aldgate
Anywhere in Zone 1 you will be 300 metres from a bike zone
Set up an account online and then it’s all cashless billing.
Each bike stand has a kiosk that you enter your code and off you go.
Loan of under 30 minutes are free. A few hours will be £2 – 4
Trucks will redistribute bikes around the city to make sure they don’t all pile up in the centre.
Similar schemes in Paris and Rome have been v. succesful.
So all we need is a name?
The Paris scheme is called “Velib” (Velo Liberation – “freedom bikes”)
The Rome scheme is called Rome’n ride (ooof)
