  • Scary stuff Stompy! I hope you will get better very soon.

  • heal well stompy. you'll be missed on the DD fella. remember how you really put the hammer down last year after really struggling that first year we did it.

  • get well soon, helmets rule.

  • Shit! Hope you heal up quick, Stompy.

Bugger. I didnt think about that. I suppose I dont have the time to heal before the DD.

And about the tags. ha ha. Standard clinical procedure, apparently.

  • Heal Up Stompy.hope you get better enough for the DD, but if not there are plenty of other rides to be done, so keep your head up and relax; you'll heal faster that way!

  • Get well soon, glad you're in 1 piece!

  • This is my first bike related hospitalization. And thinking back on it, I don`t believe what a sniveling mess I was wondering what happened.

I can sort of understand why Duncan thought I helped when he came down on Saturday - all I did was talk to him. I could have done with a friendly face. .

get well, glad it's not too serious

when I was hit, i remember screaming my lungs out and then hearing myself and thinking 'shut up, you sound ridiculous!' crazy! i think much snivelling is allowed!!!!

it makes such a difference if someone comes and talks to you/holds your hand. the first ped to me came and saw me in hospital twice which was so kind. made me think a little better of the human race!

hope you heal well, and take it easy x

  • I don't know you mate but I hope you make a speedy recovery. The standard of driving in SE London is generally shit, and seems to get worse day by day. I work on a 999 ambulance out of Woolwich and see it every day. Make sure you chase the old bill up and see if they have cctv footage of the incident. Keep taking the painkillers and take it easy.

    Peace

    Kurt

  • Stompy, this is awful news. It's lucky that you are a double hard bastard who will heal up stronger than ever before.

If you need anything or want anything biked over to you (DVD boxsets a speciality) then give me a PM.

Also, bear in mind the TdF is about to start - silver lining?

  • Dude, long time no see!

Glad to hear that you're not too hurt.

    See you soon I hope

  • Ouch, get well soon. Sounds like you'll fix up ok, that must have been a big whack though.

  • No Stomps!
I was looking forward to riding with you on the DD.
Heal well my friend, we'll puff our way up some hills real soon.
Hope you find out what happened as well, must be a real mind fuck
    xx

  • Since I'm trying to be self-employed, I'm afraid this isn't much of a silver lining for me. Still, it seems I can still type, although slowly, so the coding will be slower.

A silver lining is that my gf is out of work, so she's able to look after me.

I'll freely admit I was looking for some sympathy with this post, but the response from you guys is overwhelming.

    Much love!

  • all the best recovery vibes to you Stompy.
Also, your memory can come back to you at some point, usually triggered by sounds and visual inputs. Must be so weird not remembering.

  • Sorry to hear about this mate. look after yourself and if you manage to get yourself better by the DD, that ticket'll head right back atcha!

  • ah stompy heal up mate.

  • Blimey. Heal up soon, chap.

  • helmets rule, sore head for a while dude, take it easy

  • Bike back from copshop.

I've got the name and address of the person who's car I'm told I went into the back of. However, apart from scuffed handlebar tape there is no damage to the front, not even a wobbly front wheel. The back wheel is a different story.

I don't know; but it feels like maybe I was struck from behind, and thrown off my bike onto another car.

Mrs says I should call the copshop (the officer who spoke to me in the ambulance left his details in my bag) to see if they have statements from anyone.

Maybe you hit the drain cover in the other accident thread, flipped a full 180 and hit the car in front but upside down and travelling backwards??

Trying banging a spare helmet onto the road outside, see if that awakens the memories.

    Get well soon!

  • cctv?

  • Damn, sorry to hear about this Stompy.
I was looking to doing the night ride to Brighton with you too.
If you have got the details of the driver, maybe try and claim something for this.
Anyway mate, heal up fast and keep well.

  • Bad call, dude.

    Heal fast, ride hard.
