    Yeah, but who said none of us use our bikes for other things, where going fast might be desirable :-) 24 spoke wheels are light and fast, end of story!

    And, anyway, it's a myth that you need to be going x mph before you see any aero benefit - you see a benefit at most speeds most people ride at. Aero wheels in a 25mile time-trial at 25mph are worth something like 1min30 plus or minus something. As your speed drops, so does the proportional benefit, but the absolute beneift in terms of minutes saved does not drop so much, and may even go up. i.e. Something less (proportional benefit) of something more (clock time) is something more than something of something (original time saving)! (Sorry, too much Yes Minister...). In other words, even someone doing a TT at a slow pace of 18mph is going to see an aero benefit.
