I think it was too hipster if anything - you kind of set yourself up for it by buying some oil in an unmarked packet from BLB when they told you it was what you thought it was, while merrily waving money in the air. So people probably thought hmm, person waving money in the air in BLB while not really knowing what's going on = trustafairian!
You'd said you weren't impressed by them in the past, so all the more reason for buyer beware. Other bike shops are available, including the excellent 14 very nearby, so you can see why people get bored of these threads.
